In the evening, the part of the group which was there already (the Ukrainian and Polish group) started the evening session with getting to know the formalities, like where is what in Krzyżowa and what are the rules of the International Youth Center. When the basics were done, the most important part started: who is with me here for the next week? What are their names, their hobbies, what instruments do the play and will I get to know them? I can give you some examples: CHARLOTTE, hand gesture movement that symbolizes "reading a book" - everyone learned that my name is Charlotte and that I like reading. So that it would stick, everyone is repeating the names and the gestures, and afterwards a little competition was taking place. Nastia and Gosia were separating the group in two smaller groups through holding a piece of clothing between them. Each team had to decide who is sitting in front of the rest and when the clothing was lowered and the two groups could face each other, the chosen people had to say the name of the person in front of them as quick as possible. The group that was faster will get the loser from the other team. Hard? Yes, but very effective! :D
Because it was late, the last preparations for the week started: who is sleeping where? Every room made their own poster with their names and personal illustrations. Now everyone could go to bed carefree, they wouldn't loose sight of another now. Welcome to Krzyżowa!
A small village in Poland hosts every summer a very special project called "Anpfiff Europa". Young people from Ukraine, Germany and Poland meet here for the first time and will be the participants of a wind orchestra, playing their music instruments like the trumpet, where no other language is needed except for the musical tones that build a language of their own. Other than making music together, they are building teams for football matches, fighting with and for each other on the field, giving everything they have while playing their instruments and while running after the ball - more international things than music and football are hard to find. So, listen carefully, maybe you can hear us from wherever you are right now. |
